My First Purebred

Sandy was my first purebred dog. Although I grew up with a host of mongrels in our household, I was never really into dogs. At first, I bought Sandy so I can relate to an ex-girlfriend who loved poodles. Obsessive-compulsive that I am, I tried to learn as much as I can about dogs. My perfectionist and competitive nature eventually got intrigued by dog conformation shows. The idea of breeding and showing a dog that conforms with the ideal fascinates me until now.
